What You Need To Know About Magickal Oils

What You Need To Know About Magickal Oils

Our ancestors used oils in their ceremonies and rituals during their time. What they used were essential oils, and these essential oils readily available now. In fact, we can even make our own blends today!

The way our ancestors did it was by heating oil or fat and then adding fragrant herbs and flowers to the oil. For magickal purposes, it's best to use essential oils, for they contain the magical properties of the plant, which can make your spells much stronger and much more effective.

How To Use Oils

Now there are many ways to use your oils in a ritual setting. They are highly versatile and can be rubbed on candles, amulets, necklaces, Wiccan jewelry and other altar tools. What happens is the powerful energies of the oil will merge with the magickal symbolism and powerful properties of the tool.

You can even use the oils to anoint your body. Now essential oils are concentrated and can cause reactions to some people. So use them very sparingly. It is best to mix them in a carrier or base oil to dilute them.

Applying the oil to your body bring you the energies of the oil. So if you rub money drawing oil or attraction oil on yourself, then you will be sure to attract money and love.

Finally, crystals, amulets, talismans and other charms anointed with the oil of your choice will turn them into items of magical power and energy. They will work with the oil to make your desires come true.

Types of Oils

Spiritual oils, herbal oils, ritual oils, condition oils, aromatherapy oils, and essential oils widely used tools used in Witchcraft and Paganism. They are used in ceremonies, rituals, events celebrating times of change on the wheel of the year, and life-changing events. They come in many flavors, colors, and kinds that it can be tough to decide which oil to use.

One thing’s for sure, all oils possess a symbolism that enhances the event or affect the results in the spell casting and/or ritual. Oils hold the element of Spirit. They help bring us into a different dimension and summon the entities we wish to communicate with.

Making Your Own Essential Oil Blend

It’s actually very easy to make your own essential oil blend. Whether you are making your own money oil, success oil, banishing oil, or love oil, you have to first focus your intent.

What you will need:

  • Base oil of your choice
  • Essential oils
  • Eyedropper
  • Dark-colored glass bottle
  • Container for mixing

Once you’ve decided on your intent, set the essential oils needed in the recipe. Set out the base oil you will be using as well. Now pour about 1/8 cup of the base oil in the container. To give you an idea of base oils, this can be one of the following:

  • Safflower Oil
  • Grapeseed Oil
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Sunflower Oil
  • Almond Oil

Using an eyedropper, add the essential oils in the blend. Follow the recommended proportions and don’t go beyond what is stated. To mix the blend, just swish the essential oils by swirling in a clockwise direction.

Once you’re done, store your oil blends in dark-colored glass bottles and keep them in a place where heat and moisture won’t reach them. You have to consume these blends within six months from making them.
