The Call Of The Ulfhednar

Here at the Moonlight Shop, one of the favorite things we love to do is create new products.

We always get a bunch of emails and messages with inspiring ideas about what we should make next. And, from time to time, we listen.

This time, we wanted to create something that has something to do with women's empowerment. And, we couldn't think of any symbol better to portray this than a female warrior in a wolf headpiece.

The whole idea came from the term Ulfhednar. It translates to a group of Viking warriors who wear wolf skin in battle. They were among the bravest and most fearless warriors who ever lived. And so, we decided to give the project the same name - the Ulfhednar.

To give the design a complete, stronger look, we added a few Norse Mythology elements - ravens and runes. We went with Norse because it's perfect to represent the main theme of the design - bravery.

The Ulfhednar highlights bravery and fearlessness. This is the quality that Viking warriors carried even in the face of death.

For a lot of our Wiccan brothers and sisters, bravery is magick. That's why we were very excited when we were making this design. We wanted to make something that would inspire the warrior in us all.

And so, we introduce to you The Call of the Ulfhednar.

The entire design looks fearless and strong as a whole. But, would you like to know more about what each of the symbols we included means? Here they are:

The Wolf

The wolf symbolizes savagery and a strong desire. It is a significant animal in Norse mythology. The wolves were part of the Norse pantheon, and they

In Norse mythology, the wolf was a significant animal. The wolves were part of the Norse pantheon, and people believed that they are gods themselves.

The Ravens

Ravens are a symbol of wisdom and knowledge. The Vikings believed that they could predict the future - so they were often seen as a sign of good luck.

These magical creatures are also a significant symbol in the Wiccan religion. They are often associated with Witches. And, they have the power to move between worlds and create new realities as they choose.

The Runes

Modern divination believes that runes hold power. Their qualities and values connect with magic.

Runes are still used in spells and oracle reading practices in the modern world. The meanings drawn from this ancient alphabet still hold their power today.

We are super proud and happy about how the design turned out. It has all the right elements that make a strong appearance. And, it looks a lot better than what we first envisioned.

We have created a whole product line with the Ulfhednar design. We made cloaks, shirts, signs, posted, and a lot more.
