In this post, we’ll take a look at the Dragonfly. A very powerful little being that has always reminded me of faeries.
The dragonfly has always played a big role in old religions and beliefs. Everyone from the Vikings to the celts, to the Native Americans worshipped Dragonflies.
The thing that makes dragonflies so unique and special is that they have very short lives. They don’t have any time to waste, so when they are near you, you can bet they have a VERY good reason.
Usually, they are there to tell you something important. If you are very stressed, always thinking about the past or what you need to do, chances are that a dragonfly will pay you a visit.
It’ll be there to tell you, that you should remember to be in the moment and maybe that you need to change some things in your life.
Also, when you are in a bad relationship, wasting your time at work or worry too much, they like to pay a visit to tell you about how you can change and make a transformation in your life.
A Dragonfly will usually communicate with you, by being in your presence. Again, remember that their lives are very short, so if they take the time to be near you, it is because it’s important. They don’t waste their time!
If you don't live in a place where dragonflies naturally are, you might find that you start to dream about them or suddenly see Dragonfly merchandise everywhere.
It’s a pretty odd phenomena, but it happens more often than you would think.
It’s usually just another way for them to communicate with you.
So, what does it mean when you suddenly have dragonflies following you or when you start to see them in your dreams?
Again, a dragonfly is usually all about transformation, change and being present in the moment.
So, if you suddenly see them all over, it’s probably because you are getting caught up in the past or spend you time worrying over stuff you shouldn't worry about (like things you cannot control anyway).
See it as a sign that you need to wake up. That you should cherish your life. Every single moment.
Life is extremely short and you shouldn't waste it by worrying about things you cannot change or have no control over. Live live fully and enjoy yourself. Adapt to new situation and change and don’t get stuck in the past.
Even if you live at a place where there isn’t any dragonflies or if they never come to you, you can still make use of their power by wearing a dragonfly pendant or having merchandise (I believe a pendant is better because you can have it on you at all times).
A dragonfly pendant might not be as “in your face” as a real life dragonfly, but if you let it, it will serve as a reminder to be joyful and be in the now (or whatever you are dealing with where a dragonfly can help).
A pendant can also be a good companion for when you are trying to make some changes in your life. It will help you with new beginnings, creating new and better habits and sticking to them.

My mother has come to me as a dragonfly since her passing. Yesterday I went tot he beach to feel close to my mom- I was in our hotel room feeling sad because I didn’t feel my mother yesterday on the anniversary of her passing.
I told my sister I was disappointed- Disappointing me is not her- EVER.
Soon after a DRAGONFLY flew into our room!
She flew around a bunch then landed on the curtain-
I put my hand out and she came to me-
Then she KISSED ME!!!!

I’ve been dealing with slit of past pain . Grief and fear . The other day a dragonfly landed on my chest and spent about 5 min there then he flew away and flew back towards my boyfriend sitting next to me and kissed him right on the lips .. never have I seen anything like this .. it was pretty amazing ❤️
We’ve lost 3 of our family pets in this past year. After each loss a dragonfly appeared. Our dog, Izzy. Then a white dragonfly came that night. Our cat, Athena and an orange dragonfly came. My cat Drake of 14 years who was my baby. I’ve had a red dragonfly come to me and actually let me hold it. Emotional stuff. But, very comforting. Thanks for this read!

Yesterday I took my Dad to be tested for the virus and on the way home as we stopped for a red light a dragonfly was next to the car just hanging out then as we moved on and came to the next red light there it was again and it circled in front of us as we pulled away it followed for a second then gone., I love dragonflies. Many years ago I was dreaming and there were dragonflies in my dream then I started seeing them in front of my car when I would park my car at work this happened several times so I went and got a tat on my wrist. its in color- the body is blue, outline of wings red, inside of wings pink. The colors are for my grandson, son and daughter. Colors represent their birth month. I believe that what happened yesterday was a sign that dad and I will be ok!

yesterday while walking on a bike path i saw a large dragonfly near me. i stopped and it landed on my arm. it stayed at least thirty seconds letting me take pictures of it before flying away.
One just landed near my hand on the rail of the steps to the house. So I watched and waited until it flew around me a few times and then flew off….🥰

This is so extraordinarily beautiful and great. I was getting into my car this evening to go help a friend and there were I think 3 dragonflies hovering around me at the time. It’s time to move on!
The last time I saw a butterfly was 3 days ago at a cottage. A dragonfly decided to land on my head and stay in my hair for quite awhile until I had forgotten and accidentally put my hand through my hair and it flew off but then it came right back! It stayed for hours, I gave it a cap of water to make sure it wasn’t thirsty and it climbed into the cap and took drinks, and then it would fly a bit but either straight onto my hand or into my hair. My friend was making jokes that I had found a new pet and I might have to take it home lol. Well, the past weekend before this I decided to make a huge step and quit drinking as well as try to make goals to help my mental health. So reading this was really reassuring and definitely makes me think that this visit was no coincidence. ☺
My dear friend passed on 27 May this year. She was riddled with cancer and was visited regularly by butterflies. She new I loved dragonflies. Today I was gardening and scattering rocks when I noticed a dragonfly right in front of my. I hoped it was my friend visiting so had a chat the said if that’s really you please land on my hand … and it did. I cried with joy and immediately phoned her mother who was delighted xxx it was a very special universal moment

At the beach a dragon fly landed on me and stayed there for 15-20 minutes and enough time for my grandson, granddaughter and wife to see it. My six year old grandson took a photo of it and I see a few around me when I’m at my pool flying around me.
Amazing. I work from home due to the current situation. As I was working on my laptop one flew and sit on my shoulder. I said hello. The sweet creature sit there for several minutes and then flew off. I have been very stressed lately over a past situation that has broke and heart and turned my world upside down.
This afternoon I found out a dear friend of mine had passed away a couple weeks ago. I was outside & as her sister was telling me this…I noticed a couple dragonflies in the front yard. One landed on my car’s antenna & stayed there for a bit. I felt like it was Steph coming to let me know she’s ok. Well…that dragonfly stayed with me for an hour, before the other one came back & they flew away. Totally felt out of the ordinary for sure. A special moment in time.

Thank you for sharing your post. Dragonflies always come to pay me a visit at some of my worst times and it always puts my mind at ease cause I know for sure that change is on its way. I don’t live near any water so I know they come for reasons. Just like the praying mantis, they also visit me bringing good news and things change for the better days afterwards . Sorry, I’m not Pagan or Wiccan , I was born and raised as an eclectic as like all my grandmothers for generations .

Dragonflies have been around me my whole life. in and out and you’re right… sometimes when you’re stressed or down or just an emotional wreck at times is Win they seem to show up. There’s also been many times you’re just lately at work I had one show up at my desk hung out in the shop for a couple days and then he landed on my paperwork and expired and I’ve had him in my office ever since big green silvery dragonfly makes me smile every time I look at him
Young ones are landing on me outside on n off crawling over me last few weeks yet this hasn’t happened nor seen them at my home in 20 year’s??

I have been visited regularly by a beautiful large red dragonfly. Today he came right up to me several times as if to communicate a message! Relaxed and sat on a leaf about 10 cm from my face and turned to make eye contact. We sat with each other for about 5 minutes in silence and calm. Was an amazing interactive experience. What is he telling me? 🙏
One slept in my room last week, and just when I thought of killing it. Something stopped me. Next morning it was gone 🤗

At our daughters wedding in August- they were EVERYWHERE! I struggled for a very long time during their relationship whether this was the right decision for them to marry but on the day of the wedding it was as if the dragonflies surrounded me with the hope and promise that all things were as they should be and to let all my worries go. It was breathtaking and amazing – I knew why they were there for sure
Years ago a dragonfly hitched a ride on my car antenna , from Portland , Oregon to Sacramento ,California. He stayed even when we stopped.

I had one visit last evening. I was actually sitting on my porch crying. I’m in a situation that I can’t talk about, but I also know that there really isn’t any more that I can do. I just have to stay calm and ride out the storm, but the storm was a little intense yesterday. I needed that reminder to stay focused on the goal. I know that all will be as it should be.
